我是生命的粮(6:35);
我是世界的光(8:12);
我是羊的门(10:17);
我是好牧人(10:11,14);
我是复活,我是生命(11:25);
我是唯一的道路、真理、生命(14:6);
我是葡萄树(15:1,5);
我是王(18:37);
Scripture: [John 6:16-21]
16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17 where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18 A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles,[a] they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water;(B) and they were frightened. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.”(C) 21 Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.
Preface:
The theme in the "Gospel of John" is that Jesus Christ revealed himself to be? Who is he? In the "Gospel of John", Jesus revealed himself to be:
I am the bread of life (6:35);
I am the light of the world (8:12);
I am the gate for the sheep (10:17);
I am the good shepherd (10:11, 14);
I am the resurrection and the life (11:25);
I am the way and the truth and the life (14:6);
I am the vine (15:1, 5);
I am the king (18:37);
There are miracles that accompany Jesus Christ's revelation of his identity. Therefore, all these miracles point to the deity of Jesus Christ. Because miracles are manifestations of divinity.
In this passage, the deity of Jesus Christ is revealed through Jesus Christ's control of the natural world. Because he created the world, he controls the world, and the world is in his hands.
However, people are often foolish. Because of the sinful nature, people naturally value miracles, but often ignore the divine nature!
All people who experience miracles have a responsibility to witness God, not to praise themselves with miracles.
Focus Points:
A. Jesus is the Lord in charge of the natural world.
Walking on the water is a thing beyond natural sense. However, when the disciples panicked in the sea, Jesus Christ appeared before them by walking on the water.
Jesus wanted to turn his disciples' attention to himself
Jesus wants his disciples to know that he is beyond the difficulties that people experience
B. Jesus is the Lord in charge of human life
Jesus Christ taught his disciples three important lessons:
Every situation in life is arranged by God. (Mark 6:·45—52)
The Lord will definitely save us at the most suitable time.
In difficulties, Jesus Christ is the Lord. Let us not be afraid, but rejoice.
C. Jesus is the Lord who gives people faith:
Jesus Christ demonstrated his power before his disciples. Why? He wants them to know themselves better, and let us build our confidence on a correct understanding of ourselves!
Faith is to know who God is? Faith is to hear God say: "Don't be afraid, it's me!"
God's children experience God's grace and build true faith.
Conclusion:
In John 6 verses 1-15, Jesus Christ revealed that he is the bread of life through five loaves and two fish. But at the same time, Jesus Christ is also the Lord of life and the Lord of the universe. (Col. 1:15-17)
In John 6:16-21, Jesus Christ walked on the water to calm the storm and comfort the disciples. He was proactive. He is authoritative and powerful. God often uses tender love to invite you and encourage you to approach him. At the same time, God also shows his own strength, so that you can rely on him with confidence.
If we really understand the wonder of the divinity of Jesus,then we will imitate him: Jesus Christ is like this, and so is a true believer.
Everything in life is training given to us by God. See if you really believe in God, and see if you believe in your wallet or God!
Lord, I thank you for the challenge you gave me! I know that the challenge you give me is to let us see you, experience you, and know you and trust you more! Because you don’t want us to know the environment, but to know you! And let me know that you are with us, you are the master who transcends all circumstances!
